Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cost of therapy and how long will it last?
Initial sessions are 60 minutes to gain a full background. Subsequent sessions are 45 minutes long. I am also available for consultation and supervision. Please contact me for information about my current fees for individual and couples therapy.
Do you take insurance?
I am not currently a participating provider for any insurance. However, this does not prevent us from working together. I will provide you with a monthly statement that may be submitted to your insurance company for direct reimbursement to you. Often, your insurance company will pay a certain percentage of your fee to out-of–network providers, depending on your coverage. It will be your responsibility to check into the process for your insurance comany. Some of the questions I encourage you to ask them are as follows:
-
Do I have mental health coverage?
-
Do I have coverage for an out-of-network provider?
-
What percentage of the cost of a session is covered?
-
Do I have a limitation on the amount of sessions I may have in a calendar year?
-
Do I have a yearly deductible that I have to meet before my coverage kicks in?
Do you prescribe medication?
I do not prescribe medication, however, I work closely with physicians and psychiatrists in order to coordinate the care that you might need. If you are a first time client that needs medication, I am happy to provide you with appropriate referrals.
